FEA of Composite Wind Turbine Blade using FiberSIM

This research aims to demonstrate the capabilities of Vistagy’s FiberSIM software with a focus on design optimization. http://www.vistagy.com/products/fibersim.aspx. For this purpose, a model of a composite wind turbine blade is created in Creo Elements/Pro incorporated with FiberSIM describing all the plies and material properties for the advanced composites. Then, the emphasis is on seamless integration of the data into ANSYS for structural analysis. Different material properties and ply thicknesses associate with different blade properties and strengths, thus, helping us in choosing the best design criteria.
