A Predictive Analytics-Based Approach to Represent Digital Thread across Product Lifecycle

Data available in digital twins of products from manufacturing processes, inspections and service reports are underutilized in the design processes of the next generation of a product.  Predictive analytics techniques can enable an excellent platform to optimally utilize such information in new product design.  This improved integration can be expected to lead to not only better designs with higher fidelity but also significant reduction in design cycle time and corresponding cost savings across an enterprise.  This project also builds integrally on recent work to develop a method that decides early which manufacturing process to design for.  That method resulted in an interactive software tool shown below.
